April 29, 2020 – COVID-19 Update:
Dear Portland Prosthodontics community,
As you may have heard, last week Governor Brown lifted the ban on non-urgent medical and dental treatment starting May 1, 2020, so long as providers can demonstrate they have met the new requirements for COVID-19 safety and preparedness.
At Portland Prosthodontics we are doing our part to keep safety a top priority for everyone. You have placed your trust in us to oversee the oral health of you or your family member, and we take that job seriously. We want you to know we are doing our best to protect everyone from the continuing viral spread of COVID-19.
We want to assure you that your health and safety is always our highest priority. Our office has been closely monitoring and adhering to recommendations from Governor Brown's orders, guidelines from The Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and recommendations from the ADA and Oregon Dental association to remain up to date. We have implemented additional sanitary and disinfecting measures in our office, in addition to our already very strict infection control practices. We have provided additional training and instructions on cleaning procedures to our entire dental team. However, even with all these precautionary measures, the situation around COVID-19 is unprecedented. As health care leaders in Oregon, dentists across the state are making additional efforts to stop the spread and ultimately contain the virus.
We are happy to say that our office will begin scheduling patients on a case by case basis, starting May 4, 2020. Because of the required shut down, we are actively prioritizing and scheduling the most urgent cases until further notice. We have made the decision to delay elective procedures & routine hygiene appointments through June 15, 2020. As we begin scheduling, we will be evaluating the need for spacing patient appointments as necessary to accommodate social distancing and keeping patients and employees in a controlled and safe environment.
While we continue to take extra precautions to keep our patients, as well as our team, safe, we ask that you help us by following these guidelines:
• We are asking that anyone entering our office wears a face covering
• We are asking spouses, caregivers, and rides to wait in their car to maintain the social distancing protocols that remain in place at this time
• Office hours are Monday - Thursday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm "By Appointment Only"
• We ask that anyone without a scheduled appointment refrain from "walking in" or "stopping by" – If you need assistance *PLEASE CALL THE OFFICE*
The health and safety of our patients remains our top priority. We apologize for any inconvenience this may create and appreciate your understanding during this unique and difficult time. We are here to serve you and feel this is the best course of action given the current situation. Thank you all for the support and trust you have placed in us over the years, and we can’t wait to see your smiling faces when this is over.
Wishing you all health and safety, today and always,
The Team at Portland Prosthodontics
